Why buy dye? You’ll leave this introductory class with all the skills you need to dye natural fabrics like cotton, linen, and hemp with things most people throw away. We’re putting scraps back on the table, using four common wintertime leftovers to dye a set of cloth napkins. You’ll learn how to create patterns, modify dyed fabric, and make your colors last. These techniques scale to projects of any size, so you’ll head home ready to bring fresh natural color to your clothes, accessories, and linens. 

Your course registration fee includes four upcycled cloth napkins, a fabric prep kit to prepare the fabric for the dye process ahead of time, and a natural dye guide to take home after class.

Upon registration, students can sign up to bring specific types of food scraps to contribute to the dye pots. All other materials are provided.
