  • Spokane Zero Waste 2026 North Hamilton Street Spokane, Washington, 99207 United States (map)

Learn to Sew!!

This is a beginner sewing class and is appropriate for anyone who can thread a machine and sew a straight seam.

In this 3-hour class, local upcycle designer, Tori Thurman, will help you develop your machine sewing skills, learn basics of garment construction, and promote sustainability by making a pair of lightweight, comfortable wrap pants using upcycled vintage sheets.

We will be using the Kythira Wide Leg Beach Wrap Pants pattern from Mood Fabrics. These loose fitting, adjustable pants fit a wide variety of body types and sizes and the pattern is available in sizes XS-5XL. At the end of class, you'll leave with a custom-made pair of unique pants to show off, plus the confidence to create more on your own!

What’s included:

  • Use of machines and all sewing supplies

  • Access to our unique vintage sheet collection to use for your garment

  • Small classroom setting to ask questions and get expert-led guidance

  • We will provide the physical pattern in class, however, you’ll need to share your email address with Mood Fabrics prior to class for the rights to use the pattern (there’s no additional cost)

Please be sure to register for the class, it’s required due to limited spaces available.

Cost: $60.00
