Learn how to repair or replace a zipper in clothing!

Please no pants zip fly’s for this class.

Zippers can feel pretty intimidating but they’re not as scary as they seem! This class will give you the confidence and skills to tackle them and potentialy impress your friends! You will learn how to recognize when a zipper repair is sufficient or if a replacement is required as well as different zipper styles, how to identify sizes, and how to sew in new zippers when needed. Please bring one garment that needs attention, like a jacket, (no leather or fly zippers for this class) We will assess the state of the zippers and go over the possiible repairs for all items as a class so everyone can learn together. You will have time to complete your repair or replacement.

If you can thread a sewing machine and know how to straight stitch, you've got what it takes!

Repairing our clothing for longer use is a truly impactful way to reduce waste. Not only are you keeping things out of the landfill, but you get to enjoy and personalize your favorite clothes longer.
