Sustainable Sewing: Zipper Clinic 2: Gear Zippers

  • SPOKANE ZERO WASTE 2026 North Hamilton Street Spokane, WA, 99207 United States (map)

Learn how to repair or replace a zipper in gear so you can keep adventuring!

In this class you will learn how to recognize when a repair is sufficient or if a replacement is required. Please bring one gear item, like a backpack, purse, or a tent to class that needs attention. We will go over the possibilities and assess your items together so everyone can learn as we go. There will be work time to complete your repair or replacement.

If you can thread a sewing machine and know how to straight stitch, you've got what it takes!

Repairing our gear so we can use it longer is impactful not only in keeping things out of the landfill, but also for all the memories you’ll continue to make with the gear you fix!
